The session will begin silently as Jerri telepathically contacts the animal. Whereas a "psychic" translates or interprets received impressions, Jerri's "telepathic" approach opens up a non-verbal connection between herself and the animal that allows words, images, and feelings to come through. Jerri will write out exactly what the animal is sending to her: thus, she becomes a conduit between you and your animal.

Jerri's first priority is to give your animal an opportunity to openly express him- or herself. Following that initial step, Jerri will introduce your questions or concerns into the conversation and discuss reasons, options, and possible solutions. Jerri will then review the conversation with you and offer recommendations, if applicable. Afterward, she will provide you with a copy of the hand-written conversation. An average session is approximately an hour long.

• Telepathy, like energy, is not confined to a physical space. Hence, Jerri does not need to be with an animal in order to establish communication. Photographs, descriptions, and face-to-face visits are all equally effective.
• Just like we humans, animals' thoughts can be subjective as opposed to objective. For example, "Taylor" was obviously in physical distress and could not stand up. When asked what was wrong, he replied "I'm fine." More intensive questioning revealed severe emotional distress, but in the meantime, he viewed his inability to physically function as a non-issue. In other words, his perception of the situation shaped his response. (Taylor, by the way, is once again happy and healthy!)
